Biofloc Tech Fish Farming Yojana Online Registration Process

The state govt. of Odisha has started a new scheme namely “Promotion of Intensive Aquaculture through Introduction of Bio-floc Technology during the year 2020-21”. This scheme will promote high-yielding intensive fish farming in small area using Biofloc Technology.  All interested applicants who want to avail the Odisha Biofloc Tech Fish Farming scheme, can download the PDF of the application form from the official website of the Odisha Fisheries and Animal Resources Development Department through goven below steps:

Procedure to Apply Online Biofloc Tech Fish Farming Scheme Application Form 2020

Step 1- Visit the Official Website of Odisha Fisheries and Animal Resources Development Department i.e. http://www.fardodisha.gov.in/.

Step 2- On the Homepage, scroll over the “Schemes” tab in the main menu and then click at the “Fisheries Schemes” link.

Step 3- Click on the option called ‘Brief Description of the Scheme‘ section in front of the scheme name “Promotion of Intensive Aquaculture through Introduction of Bio-floc Technology during the year 2020-21”

Step 4- Now enter the required details (Mention all the details such as name, father/ husband name, date of birth, gender, caste and other information) and upload documents.

Beneficiary Guidelines

A person having small landholding (as small as 150-200 square metre of land) and having either municipal piped water supply or bore well water supply can establish this business with a small investment. This programme aims to support fish farmers and young entrepreneurs for generation of income and livelihood support. The unemployed educated youth of the state will be given priority in this scheme. Other Guidelines The brackish water shrimp farms/ nursery and seed tanks/ hatchery beneficiaries must have concerned license from Coastal Aquaculture Authority. The assistance will be with a minimum of 2 tanks and a maximum of 6 tanks.

Biofloc Tech Fish Farming Scheme 2020: Online Application Form PDF Download – To provide employment to people during the pandemic period, the Odisha government has launched a new scheme for promoting intensive aquaculture through Biofloc technology in fisheries. The purpose of the scheme is to provide employment for entrepreneurs, unemployed young people, and interested fish farmers who are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, Odisha’s Fisheries and Animal. This scheme is most suitable for youths who face unemployment during the pandemic.

Normal pond based farming system vs biofloc fish farming system

In normal pond based farming system, one acre of an earthen tank (4000 square metre area) produces about 2,000 kg of fish in 6 months

In biofloc fish farming system, the same 2000 kg fish can be produced only from 4 small tanks of each 4-metre diameter and 1.2-metre depth installed in a floor area of about 100-150 square metre

Subsidy Allowed

A biofloc unit of two tanks will cost INR 150,000 (USD 2,028, EUR 1,716), which will increase to INR 400,000 (USD 5,410, EUR 4,575) for a unit of six tanks.

The following subsidy will allow to the beneficiaries as per the tanks:-

SCHEME OBJECTIVE

This programme aims to support fish farmers/ young entrepreneurs including migrant farmers affected due to COVID-19 for generation of income and livelihood support. Around 1080 nos. of Bio-floc tanks will be developed under this programme with subsidy support under state plan scheme during 2020-21.

SCHEME FEATURES

Biofloc based farming system is a new technology for the promotion of intensive fish/ shrimp production in a limited area without significantly increasing the usage of the basic natural resources of water and land. Biofloc system is suitable for growing freshwater fish species such as GIFT Tilapia, Magur, Pangasius, Anabas, Common Carp and others depending on local market demands. Organic waste in the tanks, such as feed waste, will be treated to convert to fish feed by using helpful bacteria and carbon source such as molasses. Biofloc fish farming system Features: Each biofloc tank is stocked with about 1,000-1,500 numbers of quality fish (2-3 cm) or fingerlings (8-10 cm) with a target of 500 kg fish production over a 6 month period. Fish grows to about 200 grams within 3 months and 700 -800 grams within 6 months. Therefore, depending on the local market demand, fish can be partially harvested on a daily basis to generate daily income for farmers. Biofloc farming system is also suitable for urban and semi-urban areas. The unit cost for installation of a Biofloc unit of 2 tanks is Rs 1.50 lakh, while a biofloc unit of 6 tanks costs approximately Rs 4 lakh.
