Amma Eru Sakkara Vahanam Thittam 2020 Online Registration Process

The scheme was launched in February 2018 for the development of working women especially from the poor section of the society. Under this scheme, eligible applicants can avail discount on two-wheeler purchase of up to a maximum of 50% or Rs.25,000 whichever is lower.  Applications can be submitted at the respective corporation zonal offices between June 20 and July 4 either by registered post or in person, says the official release.

Procedure to Apply Online Amma Two Wheeler Scheme Application Form 2020

Step 1- Visit the Official Website of Amma Two Wheeler Scheme i.e. http://www.tamilnadumahalir.org/.

OR

You can collect it free of cost available at all Block Offices, Urban Local Body Offices, and the Collectorates.

Step 2- On the Homepage, Click on the Option “Application Form Download” button.

Step 3- Application Form page will be displayed on the screen and download the application form “Rural” or “urban” as your location.

Take a printout of the application form and read all details carefully.

Step 4- Fill the application form and submit to the respective Block Offices or Urban Local Body Offices in person or you can post it through Speed or Registered Post.

Step 5- Each of these offices will have a dedicated counter to accept the application from 10 am to 5 pm on all working days.

Step 6- A unique application number will be provided and the acknowledgement receipt will be filled in and signed. Ensure you take the acknowledgement receipt.

Both those who passed and those who failed are eligible Eligible Beneficiaries Under Amma Two-Wheeler Scheme: Apart from the eligibility criteria, there are beneficiaries that the Tamil Nadu government has listed to get the Amma Two-Wheeler Scheme. Below are the details: Women who are actively engaged individually or collectively as a group for a livelihood wage or activity employment. Women who are commuting long distances. ABOUT SCHEME

Amma Two Wheeler Scheme 2020: Online Application Form PDF Download –  The Amma Two-Wheeler Scheme was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in February 2018 to commemorate the 70th birth anniversary of former Tamil Nadu chief minister Jayalalithaa, who was affectionately referred to as Amma. It was launched in the presence of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K Palaniswami and his deputy O Panneerselvam, among others. The scheme, with a subsidy component of 50 per cent upto Rs 25,000 for working women, was launched by Modi, who handed over the keys and registration certificate copies to five women beneficiaries. Eligible candidates from Tamil Nadu, aged 18 to 40 years, with a driving licence and individual annual income of less than Rs 2,50,000 can apply. The rest of the cost has to be borne by the applicant through a bank/ institutional loan or through her own funds. The Amma Two Wheeler Scheme covers only gearless or auto gear two wheelers and is meant to benefit 100,000 women each year.

Amma two wheeler (Scooty) Specifications

1. Any gearless or auto-geared motorised two wheeler can be chosen as by the applicant.
2. The vehicle has to be brand new which means it can’t be a second hand two wheeler.
3. The two wheeler should have a maximum engine capacity of 125cc .
4. The scooter should have been manufactured on or after the date of 1st January 2018.

**The state transport department will not allow change in ownership of the vehicle as a result of sale or other reasons without approval from competent government authorities for three years after the scheme is availed.

Objectives of Amma Two Wheeler Scheme 2020

SCHEME OBJECTIVE

The scheme is aimed at helping working women buy gearless/auto-geared two-wheelers. It also helps disabled women buy retrofitted vehicles. Stating that Amma had implemented several schemes for the safety and well being of women, right from their birth to old age, Panneerselvam said this scheme too envisioned by the late leader, was for people’s welfare and development.

The subsidised scooter scheme for working women is an electoral promise of late Jayalalithaa. The state government increased the subsidy component under the scheme from Rs 20,000 to Rs 25,000. A total of Rs 25,000 or 50% cost of the two-wheeler would be provided as subsidy in this scheme. In case of disabled women, the subsidy amount would be Rs 31,250 per person. Applicable to all rural and urban areas of Tamil Nadu. Subsidy to be directly credited to the beneficiaries bank account. Differently-Abled women can avail retro-fitted three-wheeler scooter.

Only women in the age group of 18-40, and with an annual income of less than Rs 2.5 lakh, are eligible for the scheme. Preference will be given to families run by a woman, widowers, disabled women and transgenders. Only one person per family is eligible for the scheme. Subsidy will be provided only for vehicles which were either purchased from authorised automobile dealers or procured through bank loans, according to scheme guidelines. The beneficiaries included women who worked in the private sector, an accountant, a salesperson and an assistant in a private store.
